CCPD: Speeding to blame for rollover crash on south side

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Police say being in too much of a rush was to blame for an early morning accident that sent two drivers to the hospital.

It happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Everhart Rd. and Saratoga Boulevard.

Police say the driver of a Fiat was speeding through the intersection and struck a utility truck.

The impact of the crash caused the Fiat to roll over onto its roof, and the roof had to be cut off so the driver could be rescued.

Police say that driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Around the same time of that accident, police say a woman driving another vehicle rear-ended a pick-up truck because she simply wasn't paying attention.

The woman who police say was pregnant was also taken to the hospital.
