Rare Selena video surfaces decades later

Posted: Updated:

A 1994 video of Selena Quintanilla-Perez giving an interview in San Antonio was published to Youtube by the National Museum of American History about two weeks ago.

Before its discovery this summer, it's likely the video had not been seen in more than 20 years.

According to the group's official Youtube Channel, the video was found and digitized by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

The content of the video is Selena providing an interview for a program called 'Tejano USA' in April of 1994 just before she performed at the “Texas Live” Music Festival in San Antonio.

She was killed less than a year later on March 31, 1995 when she was shot by her friend and former manager Yolanda Saldivar. She was just 23-years-old.
