Local residents display anti-NFL signs in yard amid national anthem protests

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Several football fans are not happy with NFL players who are taking a knee during the National Anthem.  Some local residents have even started posting anti-NFL signs in their yards.

Local resident Gaylord Hoyt and other residents Action 10 News spoke with about the signs say that it's all about showing respect for this country, the military and our president.

"Off of their work time, that's their business but on work time you respect everything. The people come to see you play they don't come to see you make political statements, but you don't do it in an NFL game," said Hoyt.

Hoyt says he was a New Orleans Saints fan before the National Anthem protests began. He says he's so frustrated with the whole situation that he's even planning to burn his Saints football jersey.
