A Corpus Christi man is cutting his Vegas vacation short after the biggest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
A music festival ended in tragedy Sunday night with at least 58 people dead and over 500 injured after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of nearby hotel.
Jay Villanueva, a Corpus Christi man who is currently vacationing in Las Vegas described to Action 10 News what he witnessed after the shooting took place.
"When we were coming to the elevators to come to the room we saw a bunch of police come out of like a service elevator entrance and when they all came out there was a bunch of them and they all had their weapons drawn and they were transporting victims. One man was on a gurney and you could see blood on the sheets and another was a woman in a wheelchair and you can see she had been wounded too."
Despite the devastating tragedy, Villanueva says that this event will not stop him from visiting Las Vegas in the future, but he says he is ready to come home from his trip.
