Truck driver's semi rolls away, gets stuck on seawall

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

Officers responded to what they're calling a "freak accident" earlier this afternoon.

It happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Park Avenue and S. Shoreline Blvd.

When officers arrived, they found an 18-wheeler cab hanging over the edge of the bayfront seawall.

The driver told officers he had just unloaded a tractor nearby when his truck all of sudden began moving.

The 18-wheeler went over a curb, hit a skid-o-kan and made its way across the sidewalk until in came to a stop on the seawall's edge.

Police say the 18-wheeler did sustain some minor damage, but fortunately no one was hurt.

Officers did not issue a citation since the driver was inside the truck at the time of the accident.

On the downside, police say the driver will have to replace the damaged skid-o-kan.
