7-year-old boy donates lemonade stand money to Harvey relief

CORPUS CHRISTI -

A local 7-year-old boy is proving that no matter what age you are, you can make a difference.

Nathaniel Villarreal went above and beyond his call of being a normal kid by donating funds he raised from a lemonade stand to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Villarreal raised $297 dollars this past weekend selling iced tea and lemonade outside a local business this past Saturday.

Tuesday, at the city council meeting Villarreal presented his donation to Mayor Joe McComb to go toward the hurricane relief fund.

Mayor McComb told Villarreal his donation will go to the "Mayor's Hurricane Harvey Fund".

Villarreal's donation now brings the fund to more than $600,000.

After the 7-year-old philanthropist sold all his drinks, he made another batch and took those drinks to Rockport where he handed out lemonade to AEP workers and volunteers.

Villarreal says he looks forward to raising money for other causes.
