Local firefighters and law enforcement officials gathered at Sherill Park to remember those who lost their lives 16 years ago on this tragic day.
The special gathering was held to pay tribute to the 300 plus first responders who were killed in the line of duty during the terror attack on the World Trade Center back on September 11, 2001.
Multiple law enforcement officials took their turns during the ceremony to reflect on the valiant and heroic efforts of the first responders who lost their lives.
Following the ceremony, the American flag at Sherill Park was lowered to half mast, symbolizing that this country honors and remembers those who lost their lives during this catastrophic event.
