Church's Chicken to provide free meals to uniformed first responders

Posted: Updated:

A fast food chain is going above and beyond for first responders who worked during and after Harvey.

Church's Chicken has announced that they will be offering a free meal of choice to any uniformed first responders at Corpus Christi locations.

The first-time ever offer from the chain is calling the upcoming event the "We Got You" Day of Giving event.

Bobby Allington, the director of operations of Church's Chicken in Corpus Christi, says," This free meal will be offered to officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department, DPS, Corpus Christi Fire Department, EMS, Nueces County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Coast Guard."

135 of the 450 Church's Chicken restaurants in Texas were impacted by Harvey.

During and after the storm, first responders were there to help employees, franchisees and customers.

This special event is the chain's way of expressing their gratitude for first responders.

"Basically any uniformed officer can come in our restaurants and order anything from combo number one through eight and they can either eat it at the restaurant or take it out," Allington said.

"Church's would like to thank the uniformed first responders, come on and have lunch on us and we got you," Allington added.

The upcoming event will be held Tuesday September 12th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
