KZTV's John Rupolo reports on a dog reunited with her family

Posted: Updated:

Goldie finally came home tonight.

"Come here momma, come here baby," said her owner.

Her family in tears. Before Goldie was reunited with her family we met her tonight at Robstown Animal Control.

Animal Control picked her up on the streets just after the hurricane. She had gotten out of the yard and had a broken leg. The South Texas Dog Operation in Kingsville took her to Austin for vet care. In the meantime her owner had no idea where she was.

"We didn't know the extent of the injury, we didn't know what happened to the dog but we thought it needed medical care right away," said Lisa  from the South Texas Dog Operation.

Her owners contacted AC and they told him she was in Austin and tonight was the reunion when Goldie pulled up to her house she knew she was home.

"Your home Goldie, your home," said the family.

Goldie's family forever thankful.

"For all they done for us," said the family.

Robstown AC donated food and supplies. In all 3 agencies banded together to help a family get back their dog.

"Our hearts are forever thankful," said the family.
