CORPUS CHRISTI -

A mother has finally received her chance to thank the hero that saved her son's life.

Three years ago a man attempted to commit suicide, but CCPD came to the rescue.

CCPD Officer Ed Kerney was on scene the day a man debated whether life was worth living while standing at the top of the Harbor Bridge.

After speaking with the man, Officer Kerney convinced him that life was worth living.

Officer Kerney hugged the man while he cried in his arms and thanked him.

The sister of this man says her mother prayed that one day she would Officer Kerney so she could thank him for saving her son's life.

On August 4th she just so happened to she him, and called out to him to finally give the thanks she had been waiting to deliver for three years.

This grateful citizen thanks Officer Kerney and the rest of the Corpus Christi Police Department, not just for saving her son's life, but for doing the best they can to keep our community safe day in and day out.
