Man found fatally shot in drivers seat of car

A man was found shot dead in the drivers seat of a car overnight at the Corban Townhomes. 

The shooting happened after 12:05 a.m. Monday morning in the 1400 block of Corban Drive near the 3800 block of South Port Avenue.

When police arrived they noticed the man in his late twenties unresponsive in the driver's seat of a car. Officers say he appeared to have gunshot wounds.

Investigators say they found several bullet shell casings in the street.

Lieutenant Colby Burris with the Corpus Christi Police Department says officers are working to gather information from residents of the neighborhood as to what may have led to the shooting.
