CORPUS CHRISTI -

Some say there is no bond like the one between a mother and son. This morning, a local mother/son duo will have to come up with another type of bond after they were both arrested for DWI.

Just before 3 a.m. Monday, officers arrived on the scene of an accident on the 4300 block of Nesbitt to find an SUV that had hit a tree and the driver on the sidewalk injured.

The 40-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a broken nose and injuries to his face. He will be charged with DWI, according to officers on scene.

While investigating the crash, a woman drove up to the scene and became erratic. Officers say the woman was the mother of the man who was involved in the accident. Officers could smell alcohol on her breath, they say, and arrested 65-year-old Sylvia Olivarez for DWI as well.
