'Officer Batman' visits Women's Shelter of South Texas

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

A CCPD Officer made a special appearance at the Women's Shelter of South Texas, but he didn't show up dressed as a police officer.

Officer Braden Tackett a.k.a "Officer Batman" visited the non-profit dressed up as a legitimate-looking Batman.

The Caped Crusader has been with CCPD for seven years, but recently decided to start making more of these special appearances at non-profit public events.

Officer Tackett posted on his Facebook page saying, "This is why I have chosen to wear a Batman suit and visit centers such as this. The interaction with the kids and the stories I now have, make this the most exciting thing I have ever done. Being able to turn one shy child into an outgoing playful one felt great. One kid went from trying to act like he wasn't excited at the beginning to saying, "Because you are honest, I like you 1000%." That was awesome."

It's obvious Officer Batman truly enjoys and loves giving back to his community, so expect to catch the Caped Crusader at non-profit public events more often.
