New at-large city council member sworn in

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

The city council's newest at-large member has been officially sworn in.

Debbie Lindsey-Opel was sworn in just before today's city council meeting began.

Lindsey-Opel was selected from a field of four finalists last month to take over the seat vacated by Joe McComb.

McComb was elected as mayor of Corpus Christi in a special election held on May 6th following former mayor Dan McQueen's resignation back in January.

Lindsey-Opel now joins the City Council of Corpus Christi to serve out the remainder of McComb's term that runs through November of 2018.
