CORPUS CHRISTI -

A woman accused of shooting her boyfriend last week has been officially charged with murder.

The shooting happened last Tuesday at a home in the Annaville area on Deer Run Drive.

32-year-old Miguel Canseco was shot in the stomach and succumbed to his injuries two days later.

His girlfriend, 40-year-old Sarah Leija was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say Leija's charge has been upgraded to murder and she's being held without bond in the Nueces County Jail.
