The family of a man who was fatally shot is preparing for another painful anniversary of the death of their son.
Next Thursday will mark five months since 24-year-old Andre Fuqua shot and killed.
Back on January 22nd, the avid runner was returning to Corpus Christi from Galveston where had taken part in a competitive run.
Around 11:30 p.m. that night, Fuqua was shot several times while driving and crashed his vehicle along I-37 near Violet Rd.
When officers arrived at the scene they found Fuqua with multiple gunshot wounds inside his wrecked vehicle.
The case has remained unsolved and the investigation has been at a standstill.
Crime Stoppers issued a $2,500 cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person responsible, but there has been no leads in the case.
Andre's father, Gregg Fuqua says that through family and friends they have raised $25,000.
"I would like to just ask the community for any assistance. That's why we're putting up the reward so we can all have closure," said Gregg Fuqua.
The $25,000 reward will go to anyone who provides information to the arrest and conviction for the death of their only son.
Mr. Fuqua says that if he comes across a credible tip in the murder of his son, he will turn it over to police.
To make it clear, the $25,000 reward is completely separate from the Crime Stoppers reward of $2,500 that still stands as well.
If you have any information that could lead to the arrest of Andre's killer, submit your tip at FuquaHomicide@gmail.com
