Beach to Bay Weekend Forecast

Posted: Updated:

The Beach to Bay Relay marathon is taking place tomorrow. This means that thousands of people will be flocking to the bay to participate in the 6-leg, 26-mile relay marathon from Padre Balli Park to the Corpus Christi Bayfront. Luckily for runners signed up for the earlier legs, skies are expected to be mostly cloudy Saturday morning with light winds from the SE. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s around the time the race starts. Unfortunately, runners signed up for later legs may not be so lucky. Around lunchtime, skies are expected to become mostly sunny and temperatures will creep up near 90 degrees. Conditions are expected to become breezy around lunchtime. Expect SE winds up to 20 MPH in the afternoon and a high near 88 degrees for Corpus Christi. Stray showers are not out of the question Saturday afternoon.

Rain chances will be on the increase Saturday evening. As a result, we will begin to see cloud coverage and humidity increase into Saturday night. Thunderstorms may begin to develop Saturday night. Expect mostly cloudy skies and gentle winds from the SE. Low of 76 degrees.

Sunday will be overcast, warm and humid. A weak front will approach the area allowing scattered thunderstorms to develop Sunday. Winds will lessen ahead of the approaching front; winds will only blow up to 15 MPH from the ENE. Highs will be near 90 degrees but despite the added cloud coverage, heat index values will be near 100 degrees. High of 89 for Corpus.

Thunderstorms will continue Sunday night and will be likely throughout the day Monday.

Have a wonderful weekend!
