CORPUS CHRISTI -

An overnight crash sent a driver to the hospital after taking out a power pole and crashing into the front porch of a home.

It happened late Thursday night on Lipan near Crosstown.

Cops say the speeding driver struck a power pole and drove through a couple of front yards before crashing into one home's porch.

According to officers, the driver lost control and resulted in crashing into the power pole,

After driving through two front yards the truck eventually came to a stop after clipping one of the support poles of the porch.

Police say the crash caused a few homes in the area to lose power.

Part of the street where the crash occurred was closed while work crews repaired the damaged pole.

The driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
