Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

There's a lot to choose from in this edition of Sonya's Weekend Rundown!

This weekend you won't have to travel to a galaxy far-far-away to get your Star Wars fix. The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is hosting a Star Wars Day this Saturday. If you're a Star Wars fanatic, you don't want to miss out on this fun filled day when Star Wars characters take over the museum.
There will be props and scenes based on the movies, and you'll have to opportunity to get your photo taken with your favorite characters. As for the kiddos, a costume contest will be held for kids 12 and under. The event is from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and the cost is a general admission ticket. All museum members can attend the event at no cost.

If you're feeling stressed out and need a way to unwind and decompress, head out to the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve for a yoga class. The class offers yogis of all levels an opportunity to stretch and relax while enjoying the outdoors. The cost is $10 and you will need to bring your own mats. The hour long class is taking place from 1-2 pm this Saturday.

Kick off your Friday evening with a star-spangled celebration of food, fun, fishing, fundraising and veterans at "Vets Fishing With Vets." The two-day veterans celebration and fishing tournament will feature live music, dancing, great food, door prizes and a silent auction you don't want to miss. The annual event helps raise money to benefit the Fisher House. The event kicks off Friday evening with a reception and tournament registration.

Last but not least, this Saturday it's time for the annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon! Runners from all over the world will lace up their running shoes and converge in Corpus Christi for one of the largest relay marathons in the nation. About 2,000 teams will take on the 6-leg, 26-mile-long course from the beach in North Padre Island to the bayfront on Ocean Drive. Registration for Beach to Bay is already closed, but you can cheer on the runners as they make their way across town.
