Rockport man dies after falling out of ambulance

Posted: Updated:

A Rockport man is dead, after authorities say he fell from a moving ambulance.

Cops tell Action 10 that the incident happened Tuesday on Highway 35 near the Aransas Pass exit in San Patricio County. Cops were talking to the man in a parking lot, when he requested medical assistance.

An ambulance picked the man up a short time later. He was being taken to the hospital when he somehow fell out of the ambulance, and on to the highway.

At this time, officials are not sure how or why the man fell out of the vehicle. Investigators are questioning the medics, as well as people who knew the man killed.

An autopsy is underway. His identity has not yet been released.
