Girls Basketball Coach promoted to Athletic Director

Posted: Updated:

West Oso Independent School District has promoted head girls basketball coach, Cheryl Fillmore, as athletic director by a unanimous board, being the districts first female athletic director.

Fillmore has replaced head football coach and former athletic director, Scott Kilgore, who resigned in March 2017. The school is currently looking to hire a football coach

"We're looking. We posted there was an opening and we've had people respond," Fillmore said. "I was kinda worried about that but as the posting job opportunities coming in, responding, resumes, I'm feeling good about it."

Fillmore grew up in the West Oso district area, attending the schools and working for them. She is humbled and excited about the new opportunity.

"I just want to thank everybody for congratulations and support. And that we're gonna do this together. West Oso ISD, we'll be there doing this together," Fillmore said.
