Sleeping husband hit with cookware, punched in face, stabbed

Wednesday was a really rough day for a man who slept later than his wife wanted. Corpus Christi police called to take a report on a fight at the house on Sunrise Street were told the wife was angry he slept until noon and refused to get out of bed.

The common-law husband was hit in the head with a pot and punched in the face three times, according the police.

Things got even worse when the wife allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the hand.  He refused medical treatment at the time, but was willing to pursue charges of aggravated assault.

39-year-old Melinda Hinojosa was taken the City Detention Center and the Nueces County Jail.
