Charitable program ships cigars to soldiers

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI -

'Tis the season of giving and while you're out shopping, you might consider buying a cigar for a soldier.

Operation: Cigars for Warriors is a nationwide charitable organization that's also in the Coastal Bend.

The group collects and ships premium cigars and accessories to American Service-members serving overseas.

"It's one of the top requested items from the troops believe it or not and we try to fulfill all the request we get," said David Harris.

The organization is run on by volunteers and it's the only 501(c)3 Federal Charity program of its type.

"It's a great feeling, it's very rewarding, the only thing we ask is that they send photos of them smoking the cigars, enjoying the cigars and that's my payback," said Harris.

If you are deployed service-member, please feel free to visit cigarsforwarriors.org and click the "Request Cigars" tab.

You can drop off donations at Tobacco World, 5717 Saratoga Blvd Suite 103.
