Suspect surrenders for shooting at Cos-Way Pier

CORPUS CHRISTI -

A 29-year-old suspect turned himself in claiming to be involved in the shooting of the 37-year-old victim. The victim has been identified by family as Jose Mendoza a local rapper known as Flatline. 

Police say the shooting took place sometime after 2 a.m. Friday at the Cos-Way Bait and Tackle. Reports say that other fisherman had heard gunshots and headed to the scene where they found a 37-year-old man shot multiple times.

Upon arrival, emergency crews tried CPR on the victim, but they could not revive him. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

No motives have been reported as of this time.
