The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida is the official source for tropical cyclone advisories and forecasts and is responsible for issuing tropical cyclone watches and warnings for the United States.
These include: public advisories, forecast advisories, forecast discussions, wind speed probability forecasts, hurricane local statements, inland hurricane watches and warnings, and intermediate public advisories (every 2 to 3 hours close to landfall.)
