CORPUS CHRISTI - A 49-year-old woman has been taken to a local hospital after being stabbed at a home on the 700 block of 25th Street.

Corpus Christi police arrested a 51-year old man for the stabbing.  Lt. Brian Hill says the man told police  that he and the woman were arguing over money.  At some point during the argument, police say the man pulled out a knife and slashed the woman across the stomach and stabbed her twice in the back.

The woman is expected to survive.  The man is arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.

Police say the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the arrest.

It's unclear how the two know each other.
