DRISCOLL -- A government van rolled over several times about a mile south of Driscoll at Highway 77 and County Road 18.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents (ICE) were transporting eight illegal immigrants from the Rio Grande Valley to an unspecified place north of Driscoll.
DPS troopers said a blowout on the driver's side rear tire made the van skid when it hit the mud, causing it rollover several times.
Two immigrants were ejected from the van, and they are now in critical condition. Other people had to be transported by ambulance to an area hospital. It is still unclear if anyone in the vehicle was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the incident.
DPS troopers said even though they were injured, the ICE agents still tried to maintain control of the situation.
Originally, Halo Flight was dispatched to the scene. Bad weather prevented them from making it out there.
