CORPUS CHRISTI - Susie Chadden says she's lived in her home on Prescott since the 90's. And that Linda Sommers has been her insurance agent nearly that long.

Chadden says in March, she paid Sommers $490.00 in cash for Windstorm coverage for her home. But then Chadden says, her mortgage company began calling, saying she didn't have the coverage. And that's when Chadden says she started calling Sommers for answers. "She said her secretary took off with some of the receipt books. Some of the files. And thousands of dollars," Chadden recalled.

Chadden claims she checked with The Texas Department of Insurance to see if she had teh coverage Sommers told her she had, and that they told her, "she had put in a binder but that she never sent in the money. That's why they never gave her an insurance policy, which is what my mortgage wanted."

But Chadden told the Troubleshooters Sommers kept tellign her a different story. "She just kept telling me that I did have insurance. And I believed her. All this time I believed her, until I started receiving notes from my mortgage company."

Chadden showed us the letters, or notes, from her mortgage company, she was referring to. They said her premium would go up substantially if she didn't have Windstorm coverage. Alot. "One thousand one hundred and sixty five dollars and 50 cents to have Windstorm Insurance," she said.

Chadden said Sommers used to have an office on the 6100 block of Ayers. But today it's empty and for rent. Then we knocked on the door of the house Chadden said Sommers lived in. No one answered the door.

We called 2 phone numbers for Sommers Chadden gave us. No answer.

There is some good news in this story. Chadden found Windstorm coverage through another company, and her mortgage company approved it. But she still intends to find a way to get the $490.00 she insists Sommers owes her.

As always, we'll let you know how this one turns out.
