CORPUS CHRISTI - We have some updates to recent Troubleshooters cases involving a quinceanera venue that was canceled, a dispute over burial plots and a foundation repair job.
First, Sylvia Villarreal tells us she's working non-stop preparing for her daughter's big day on Saturday. She says Diane Gardner has offered to reimburse her the full $2,500 Villarreal says she paid for the Arboretum Ballroom on Wooldridge. Gardner was the Arboretum's business manager.
Villarreal learned she couldn't use the Arboretum just eleven days before the scheduled date. She did find another hall, but says she's had to spend a considerable amount more money because of the late switch. Because of her extra expenses, she now tells us she's not sure if she'll accept Gardner's reimbursement offer or ask for more.
On December 13th, we told about Rudy Medina and his issue with Seaside Memorial Cemetery. He claimed he didn't get the specific burial plots he paid for. Medina told us today he's agreed to a financial settlement with Seaside. That makes this a Troubleshooters case closed.
On December first we told you about Billie Paschal.and her problem with Brian Roble and Dura-pile Foundation. Paschal says there's part of her driveway that Dura-pile was supposed to fix, but they haven't as of today.
We spoke with Robles over the phone today. He says all he's waiting for is Paschal's grandson to give him the OK to finish the job and the day when he can do it. We'll let you know as soon as that happens.
