CORPUS CHRISTI - Three women were arrested last night for beating a man with "The Club", an anti-theft device used on car steering wheels.
According to Corpus Christi Police, one of the women stopped by a home in the 800 block of Retama to drop off her ex-boyfriend's clothes. Candielynn Mason is accused of punching the 58-year-old homeowner in the face. A 52-year-old woman at the home tried to intervene, but Amber Starr Mason (23), Brittney Nicole Mason (20), and Candielynn Mason (25) grabbed "The Club" and apparently took turns beating the man.
After the alleged assault, the women got into a gold Chevrolet Monte Carlo and left the scene. Officers later found the women inside the car parked outside a Stripes Store on Buddy Lawrence Drive. They also found Candielynn Mason's two young children in the car.
All three women are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. If convicted, the women face up to 20 years in prison. Candielynn Mason is also charged with assault causing bodily injury.
The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
