CORPUS CHRISTI - As we first reported yesterday, Corpus Christi Police narcotics officers raided two homes in a neighborhood near City Hall as part of a new Neighborhood Improvement Initiative.
Police say the woman they were looking for in a Mexico Street home was not around when they showed up. It turns out 19-year-old Jesusa Martinez had been arrested the night before while allegedly carrying 23 rocks of crack cocaine. They searched the home anyway and say they found a shotgun in the home along with several violations of city code.
Inside a home on Josephine Street, officers arrested 31-year-old Jonathon Terrell Finklea for possession of crack cocaine. Officials report they found 28 grams of crack, $1,552 in cash, and some ammunition in the home.
Police say the owners of each home now plan on evicting the suspects.
Captain David Cook of the Corpus Christi Police Department says there are 11 more arrest warrants out for suspected drug dealers in the neighborhood.
