Suspect Makes Court Appearance in 18-year-old Case Play Video

JIM WELLS COUNTY -- Carlos Zuniga, Jr. is charged with murdering a an 18-year-old Victoria woman nearly 20 years ago.

The remains of April Repka were found in a field, about six miles south of Alice, back in 2004.

Four years later Zuniga was arrested for the crime.

Today, he was in a Jim Wells County courtroom where the prosecution asked a judge for more time to work on their case.  Based on a eyewitness claims, the prosecution says Zuniga robbed and then stabbed repka before dumping her body.

Zuniga is charged with capital murder. He remains free on a $500,000 bond.
