CORPUS CHRISTI - This Sunday's Super Bowl on KRIS-NBC will be blacked out by Time Warner for their customers trying to watch on Time Warner Cable Television.
As we have been anticipating for the last month, Super Bowl XLVI between the Patriots and the Giants won't be seen by Time Warner subscribers on Time Warner Cable Television.
"We are now at 24 days since we sent our last counter offer to Time Warner," said Tim Noble, President and General Manager of KRIS Communications. "Time Warner refuses to send a counter proposal."
He added, "The sense of any movement to get the channels back on doesn't exist, and I understand the frustration Time Warner's refusal to resume negotiations is having on our viewers."
"I wish I had an answer," Noble said, "but it is clear that Time Warner has no sense of what matters to the people of South Texas. To promote watching the Super Bowl online is absurd; come on, it's the Super Bowl. Nonetheless, I am ready to resume sincere negotiations but have no idea when that will be."
Super Bowl XLVI will be available on all other cable and satellite providers as well as for free, over-the-air, with a VHF antenna.
