CORPUS CHRISTI -- Last Friday we reported on a story about a mother who said her daughter is the victim of bullying, after that story aired, a boy from another CCISD school came forward and wanted to tell his story.
"I got slapped in the face, I got backhanded in the eye, I got punched in my gut on my ribs," David Villarreal said.
He's a 14 year old student at Martin Middle School, he says he's even been locked in a cage by bullies at on campus. Something David says has been happening to him since second grade.
"They were punching me in the chin, calling me stuff, talking about my parents, calling me the A word, B word, all the words to me," Villarreal said.
He spends most days on the playground by himself. He says he feels bullies pick on him because of his speech impediment but doesn't understand why that would make him a target.
"It's just not fair that I'm being left out and I can't do most stuff that other kids can do," Villarreal said.
David says he wanted to share his story to help other victims realize a couple things.
"Just speak up, if it's really bad just speak up. Just don't be scared," he said.
Meanwhile, his mom, Joanna Silva who fears for her son's safety, says this has to stop. She wants the school and CCISD to enforce their anti-bulling policies.
"I'd like to see them have zero tolerance for kids who put their hands on other kids," Silva said.
After speaking to CCISD officials, they say, parents can file all concerns and complaints through their website and as for the most recent incident Villarreal has encountered, officials say disciplinary action was taken but by law CCISD can't disclose what those actions were.
As for Villarreal, he maintains one thing regardless of what happens to him.
"I don't resort to violence especially, because it's not the right way to go in life, violence is never the key," he said.
