Serving Up BBQ for the Homeless

CORPUS CHRISTI- One BBQ joint near downtown gave away food today, but there's a catch.
The owners of Quick Draw BBQ on Staples and Commanche wanted to do something for the homeless in the community.
patrons were encouraged to drop off clothes and coats for the homeless in exchange for free food.
Donations were a little slow, but area residents, some of them homeless, got a free meal, thanks to one local businessman, Ken Baker, who remembers what it's like to be poor.
"I came here basically sleeping in my car in 1980, and God's prospered me a great deal, so i'd like to give back to some of the people of the community and to help back out. Christmas is all about love and giving love and that's what I wanted to do, and I thought these guys have the great personality for it, and the great location to do this."
The owners of the restaurant had so much fun today, they are already planning to do this next year.
