ALICE - Just days after four men died in a drive-by shooting and car crash in Alice, there's been another shooting.

Around 1:30pm police were called to the 100 block of Escobar after someone fired on a parked pickup truck. No one was in the truck at the time.

The police detained four men and took them into questioning, but they were all released.

Alice Police Chief Daniel Bueno believes the gang violence in Alice stems from a rivalry between two known gangs, the Latin Kings and La Raza Unida.

Nathan Ortiz, the brother of the driver of the red truck says his brother is only 18 and an affiliated gang member trying to get out.

Ortiz told us why he thinks this gang war is happening, "It's because of the dominance. One person thinks hr is better or bigger then the other, or badder. But what they don't realize, I guess they haven't figured it out, there is going to be someone bigger and badder. Why are you even trying? Until everybody is dead? That's why they are killing, for peace."

Police are still investigting both cases and while they believe both are gang related, they are uncertain at this point if they are related.
