ROBSTOWN - A man allegedly stole a donation jar from a convenient store Thursday night.
But even when he was caught a short time later with the jar, police only cited him for criminal trespassing, then released him.
Officers tell us shortly before 9:00pm, the man stole the jar from the counter of the Times Market on East Main and ran out.
The jar was full of coins and bills.
There was also a label on it with a little girl's picture on it, according to store employees, but they don't know who exactly that is.
And police say because the jar was not the store's property, they couldn't arrest the man for stealing.
His only punishment is that he's not allowed back in that convenient store.
