CORPUS CHRISTI - In one neighborhood near Greenwood and Holly, the leftover rain water won't seem to go away. Residents on Rio Grande Street say they're tired of their neighborhood flooding.
Ramon Ramos says every time it rains the water floods his street and stays around for hours. He says the flooding makes leaving the house inconvenient, "We cant go anywhere. The situation is that our cars are going to get flooded and then we're going to have more problems," Ramos said.
Residents on Rio Grande said they expected their flooding problems to go away when the city repaired drain systems on Greenwood but after a few inches of rain on Saturday night, the street is a river. Ramos says there are drains on his street, they just don't seem to be working. "This is a low sinking area to where the water just converges right here, and the drains are right there but they still don't go anywhere," he said. He says he hopes the city will come check the drains and make sure Rio Grande street doesn't flood again.
