CORPUS CHRISTI -- The Pothole Patrol is on the case of some unfinished business today. One woman says city crews filled in one pothole along her street last week, but they left the larger one undone.

We visited the corner of 6th and Elizabeth Street. We didn't find many cars driving through the massive pothole on 6th street, it is so large many drivers see and avoid it.

But occasionally, Rose Hinojosa, who lives nearby, hears the inattentive driver ding the bottom of their car on the bump. "I can hear people driving by it and hitting it hard," she said.

We took the Action 10 Pothole Patrol unit through it, and it was a bumpy ride. One that Hinojosa's been battling for about a year now.

"It's too long, too long, for anybody," Hinojosa said. She and her neighbors just want it fixed.

"Its just getting bigger and bigger and I'm afraid its going to get bigger and one of these days it just might swallow somebody or their car," said Hinojosa.

Last week, she claims, crews came out to fix a pothole about 10 feet away, but they left the larger one undone.

"They have tons of potholes to fix, but we just want one little one to be fixed," Hinojosa said. Her biggest concern is that most drivers will get into their left lane here to avoid that big pothole. But with an intersection just a few feet away, she's concerned two cars may hit head on. "We could have a collision easily, easily," she said.

Until the pothole problem is solved, Hinojosa says drivers: beware.

"Just be careful, be careful when you come by sixth street right before you hit Elizabeth street, just you know, be cautious for the other driver driving on the opposite side of the street," she warned.

We are waiting to hear back from Andy Leal with the city's street services department to find out when they plan to fix the problem.
