CORPUS CHRISTI - If you are going to be on the city's Southside today, we've got a road you might want to avoid.
The Pothole Patrol took a careful ride down Lipes at Brockhampton near Kaffie Middle School.
Resident Molly Bates tells us, "It's not a pot hole, it's a crater!"
Bates lives near the intersection and though this hole probably wasn't caused by a hurtling meteorite, she says that every time she drives to work, she has to do some fancy driving to avoid hitting it.
"Swerve, because if I don't I'll have to have my tires realigned," Bates said.
In fact, we were there for only a few minutes before we noticed several cars and trucks turning into the oncoming lane just to keep from running over it.
The hole is nearly 2 feet across and about a foot deep, meaning drivers have to stay alert when driving through this area.
"This is one of my main routes and it's been here for a while. And I really, really would appreciate it if it was fixed really, really soon," said Bates.
But until the holidays are over, city road crews won't be coming by to fix this hole. Meaning Molly and other residents have to deal with this cosmic crater for a bit longer.
