Police: Shooter Believed Dead on VA Tech Campus, Lockdown Lifted

BLACKSBURG, Virginia - Officials at Virginia Tech have informed students and faculty that the campus wide lockdown has been lifted as a threat no longer remains after two people were shot and killed this morning.

A news conference is expected shortly on the situation. Police have told media on campus that the person believed to be a second victim may have been the suspect who shot a police officer during a traffic stop around noon.
