Mexican Lanchas Stopped 20 Miles Off Coast

CORPUS CHRISTI - Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection units from South Texas apprehended seven people on two Mexican fishing boats last night about 20 nautical miles off the coast.

Officials say they lanchas were first detected heading north at a high rate of speed without any lights on.

Crews from Corpus Christi, Brownsville, South Padre Island and New Orleans worked together to stop the boats.

Authorities ask that you contact the Coast Guard if you see any suspicious activity.
