NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's track & field team remained in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Championship rankings for a fourth straight week. The Javelinas are currently ranked 23rd with 38.02 points.
This was the first week that the rankings were factored without contributing data from last season resulting in a lot of shuffling in the rankings. The team has posted seven automatic and provisional qualifying marks this season. Sprinters Tim Price (Corpus Christi/Carroll HS), Anthony Washington (Cypress/Cy-Springs HS) and Jonathan Woodson (Missouri City/Marshall HS) have each posted marks in the 60 and 200-meter dashes. Woodson has automatically qualified for nationals in the 200 meters and has the second best time in the nation this year. Avery Griffen (West Columbia/Van Vleck HS) has provisionally qualified in the weight throw.
The Javelinas are currently ranked seventh in the South Central Region. The team is back in action on Friday at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games at the Armory in New York City.
