Meals on Wheels Clay Expo This Weekend

ROCKPORT - At least 150 homebound, elderly people open their door five days a week to receive a healthy, nourishing, hot meal thanks to the Meals on Wheels program provided by the Aransas County Council on Aging.

Sometimes this is their only hot meal for the day. The Eleventh Annual Bountiful Bowl Pottery Fair, which will be held February 2 & 3, 2013, raises money that supports the local Meals on Wheels.

In 2012, over 37,000 meals were provided to the homebound of Aransas County. Those proceeds are a big part of this program's budget.

Thirty five potters from all over Texas will display their finest work.

This year's Bountiful Bowl Pottery Fair will be held in conjunction with the opening of a special ceramics exhibition at the Rockport Center for the Arts.

There will also be a weekend Gallery Walk in Historical Downtown Rockport, and several pottery related events on Sunday.
