CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - In the city's latest home invasion, a man reportedly dressed as a Mormon Missionary attacked a woman after he knocked on her door. It happened around 6pm Sunday night in the 13100 Block of Oglethrope.
Police say the woman was home alone when the man knocked on the door and tried to force himself onto her when she answered.
"She said he knocked on the door and said he needed to use the bathroom, and once he was in the house he tried to force himself on her," CCPD Lieutenant Edward Longoria said.
In an exclusive phone call to Action 10 News the woman said she let the man in her home because he appeared to be a Mormon Missionary. She said the man threw her to the floor, but she was able to kick him several times in the groin until he gave up.
The woman was not raped, however police are looking for DNA evidence.
The woman says the man was Hispanic with a thick accent, and he was wearing black dress pants, a white shirt with a blue tie and gloves.
Police have not been able to find him.
