FRISCO, Texas - Texas A&M - Corpus Christi senior Jessica Jammer has been named the Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Jammer tallied a season-high 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field to lead the Islanders to its first victory of the season, 52-49, over Cornell Tuesday night. Jammer also chipped in eight rebounds, a career-high six steals and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.
The Brookshire, Texas native is averaging 6.7 points per game and leads the team on the glass with 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Islanders will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to play TCU on Dec. 29 in the 2012 finale. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
