Husband Wanted for Stabbing Wife Dies in Rio Grande Valley Crash

CORPUS CHRISTI - A man wanted for stabbing his wife at her home in Corpus Christi died overnight in a Rio Grande Valley crash. Corpus Christi police confirm a warrant was out for the arrest of Earl Michael Hari.

Hari's wife was stabbed multiple times during an argument in front of the couple's children at their home on Coronado Trail last Thursday. There's no update on whether the wife is still in the hospital for stab wounds to her back and chest.

Police said her husband used a pocket knife in the stabbing. He then left the neighborhood in his Dodge Ram truck.

That truck crashed into a utility pole in Mission, Texas just after 1 a.m. today.

Local media reports the driver was alive when paramedics arrived, but he died a couple hours later. Witnesses told police the driver appeared to be intoxicated.

Corporal Manuel Casas with the Mission Police Department says Hari had stab wounds to his chest and back before he got into the crash. Investigators are not sure what caused his death.
