Hit and Run Victim's Mother Comes Forward

CORPUS CHRISTI - The mother of hit and run victim Kimberly Encinia came to us today asking for help.
Encinia was killed while walking down the street at 7300 block of McArdle road when she was on her way to a church sleep over. One week from today marks the four month anniversary of her daughters death, and she says the driver has yet to come forward.
"She didn't deserve this," said Kimberly's mother Mary Encinia
It has almost been four months since she lost her 24 year old daughter Kimberly Encinia. Police say she was hit by a white truck when she was killed. And after months of grieving, she says it still hurts that driver has yet to come forward.
"If they are afraid they can come forward. And it's going to be okay. You know, but I just want them to do the right thing," said Encinia.
Encinia feels if the person who hit her daughter were to come forward, it may bring some closure. So her message to that person that was driving the car that night is simple.
"I'm pleading to you, or any family members that is related to this person who hit my daughter, find it in your heart to turn yourself in," said Encinia.
Encinia says she feels no hate for whoever killed her daughter, just forgiveness.
"The moment that I saw my daughter in the ditch, I forgave them. I mean it won't bring my daughter back, you know, I can't hate them," said Encinia.
Encinia says she will stand by and support the driver if they come forward. But, there is one thing she would like explained.
"I just don't understand why anyone would wanna leave a person for dead instead of staying there. I know they are afraid but, I just don't understand," said Encinia.
