Flores Named to Preseason Team

Texas A&M-Kingsville junior relief pitcher Jeremy Flores (Victoria/Memorial HS) was named to the 2012 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association First Team all-South Central Region Team.

Flores, a left-hander, worked out of the bullpen and made five starts last year. As a reliever, he made 13 appearances and posted a 1.26 ERA. He had seven saves, allowed eight hits and seven walks and struck out 22 in 14.1 innings. He held opponents scoreless in 12-of-13 relief appearances and did not allow a hit in eight of his first nine appearances of the season.

Flores and the Javelinas open the season on February 7 at 6 p.m. against St. Edward's at Nolan Ryan Field.
