Elderly Man Says He Recognized One of 2 Women Who Robbed Him

CORPUS CHRISTI - 79 year old Victoriano Lopez says he was getting ready for bed last night, around 9pm, when he was startled by a knock at his front door. He saw it was 2 women, including one who'd been at his home before. So he opened the door.
He described what happened next. "Yo me vine para abrirle esta puerta para pasarla. Entonces dijo voy a pasar al bano por que tengo que ir al bano por que me siento mal."(Translation; I CAME TO OPEN THIS DOOR SO SHE COULD GO TO THE BATHROOM. THEN SHE SAID I'M GOING TO GO TO THE BATHROOM BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL GOOD.)
Lopez says the woman he recognized had come by and tried to sell him old clothes
He continued his story about last night. "Cuando yo me fue para ya a hablar con aquella, ella se vio que estaba el pantelon aqui, y de volada vino y saco el billetera y se metio."(Translation; WHEN I WENT TO TALK WITH THE OTHER ONE, THE ONE WHO WENT INTO THE ROOM SAW MY PANTS LYING ON THE BED AND SHE WENT AND TOOK MY WALLET OUT OF THE POCKET RIGHT AWAY...THEN WENT INTO THE BATHROOM.)
Lopez says he didn't realize he'd been robbed until *after the women left. They ran east down Headley Street. He says there was about $270.00 cash, credit cards, and other important papers in his wallet. And believes now that the bathroom excuse was obviously a lie !
"Ahora tienes miedo ? No. No tengo miedo. Lo que voy a decir a la policia es que yo voy a comprar una pistola para tener lo aqui."(Translation; ARE YOU AFRAID NOW ? WE ASKED. NO I'M NOT AFRAID. WHAT I TOLD THE POLICE WAS...I'M GOING TO BUY A GUN NOW...JUST TO HAVE IT HERE.)
Lopez also told police the woman he recognized, had cleaned his house before, and that she threatened him with a knife last night. He told us today he never saw aa weapon, nor was he attacked. At least not this time. He said he's been robbed and attacked in the past.
Police are investigating.
